February 20th update

         

        So just a quick update. I believe it was on the 16th or 17th I tried to go to the grocery store but my truck battery was dead. On Wednesday the 18th in late afternoon I heard two barred owls hooting in the backyard. I saw one take off from an oak tree and fly towards the front of the house. I got a new battery and went later that night to the grocery store. I got into the truck and cranked it up. The radio was playing Iris by Goo Goo Dolls which I have mentioned before; it was just over half way through which made me think of someone. I walked the dog and we saw one of the tiny baby screech owls on a fence down the road which I have mentioned in posts before. It did not sing to us and took off which it did the last time I saw it. I think it means something but I am unsure. Maybe its not time yet for something important but soon. They used to sing in a pair ( two owls ) but I haven't seen the other in so long it might have died.

        The next day, Thursday the 19th, I felt compelled to go outside in the late afternoon and heard what were probably the same barred owls from the previous day in the back yard. I saw one take off from the area near the oak tree from the previous day and fly in the same direction towards the front of the house. The other one was flying towards me, fairly high above our neighbors home who lives behind us. It passed over a tall tree, flew over me, and continued on towards the front of our home just as the other owl had. I went out front later and saw one of the owls fly from the road in front of our home and back towards the backyard. It was interesting to see them crossing over the yard like that. The two of them made me think of partnership. I heard and saw them twice, two days in a row. It is now 2/20 and will be 2/22 soon.
